SolisFAST® makes the stability last

This is the SolisFAST® month! So far, we have talked about it quite a lot. By now you probably already know that all the products in SolisFAST® range are really fast, you can use them for singleplex or multiplex, there are formats including the UNG enzyme available. Just recently we talked about how amazingly inhibitor tolerant the products are. Now it turns out that the SolisFAST® qPCR range is capable of even more. So, we have another story to tell. This time it’s all about stability (Table 1).

As you know we are very proud of our signature feature - Stability Tag technology. This allows all the enzymes produced at Solis BioDyne to be exceptionally stable at room temperature. Stability TAG increases polypeptide shelf life and its tolerance for temperature at a wider scale without compromising the properties of the polypeptide itself.

Table 1. All tested products were at least 2 weeks stable at 37 °C, 1 year stable at +4 °C and 2 years at -20 °C.  All reference dye formats of SolisFAST® SolisGreen qPCR Mix and SolisFAST qPCR Mix with UNG are stable for at least 3 months at room temperature (+25 °C). All reference dye formats of the SolisFAST qPCR Mix without UNG are stable at +25 °C for 6 months.

To find out exactly how stable our SolisFAST® qPCR products are, we once again put them to the test to see what happens. It took a while to get the results, but it was worth the wait. Now we can say with confidence that the SolisFAST® SolisGreen qPCR Mix and SolisFAST® Probe qPCR Mix with UNG are stable for at least 3 months at room temperature (+25 °C) (applies to all reference dye formats). Moreover, all reference dye formats of the SolisFAST qPCR Mix without UNG are stable at room temperature for an incredibly long time - 6 months. This is really helpful in supporting shipment at ambient temperature, and in case electricity fails and all the refrigerators stop working, our products will not.

We also got the results, which show that all SolisFAST® qPCR mixes remain stable at  37 °C for at least 2 weeks. This is important knowledge, especially for our partners who are located far away from us and may experience shipping problems. Having a qPCR product that is 2 weeks stable at 37 °C means that temperature fluctuations to higher temperatures during difficult shipping conditions will not damage the products properties. It also means having to spend less money on shipping and lowering your carbon footprint, since the product doesn’t have to be packed with ice in a giant Styrofoam cooler.

When it comes to lower temperatures then SolisFAST® qPCR mixes are at least 1 year stable at +4 °C and 2 years stable at -20°C, so you will have plenty of time to do your experiments.

With great stability, inhibitor tolerance, speed and many more options, SolisFAST® qPCR range could really have the product of your dreams. Ask for a free sample to test it out yourself!
