SolisFAST® DNA Polymerase is an in silico designed enzyme with fast extension rates and a programmed tolerance to inhibitory substances. For us it was more about the speed so far but since we got signals from the market that praised our reagents tolerance to inhibitors we decided to put it on test. To make things interesting and push the limits even further we picked 3 competitors who advertise inhibitor tolerance as their main feature. To assess the inhibitor tolerance of our SolisFAST® probe-based qPCR mixes, a test system was created and the impact of individual inhibitors, mainly found in PCR reactions, to the products was evaluated. We used a really fast protocol for our products, which none of the competitors use. The estimated run time difference between the two mentioned protocols is approximately 20 minutes.
